- Cefakind 500 tablet contains Cefuroxim 500mg, which belongs to a group of medicines called cephalosporin antibiotics and treat bacterial infections in your body It helps in the treatment of urinary tract infections (UTI), Mild to moderate lower respiratory tract infections (bronchitis), severe lower respiratory tract infections (pneumonia), pyelonephritis (kidney inflammation due to the bacterial infection), uncomplicated gonorrhoea (sexually transmitted infection), Lyme disease (caused due to biting of infected black-legged tick insect) in adults and children above 12 years of age.
- Cefakind 500 Tablet’s most common side effects Dizziness, Nausea, Unpleasant taste in mouth, Eosinophilia (Increased WBC), loss of appetite and Headache.
- This medicine may not be suitable to everyone, before taking this medicine; you should inform your doctor about your complete medical history. If you are pregnant or intend to be pregnant or breast feeding, need to inform your doctor. Doctor may suggest some medical tests before initiating treatment. This medicine is not recommended for the use in children aged fewer than 6. Do not stop taking this medicine even if you feel better within a few days. Always finish the course of prescribed antibiotic medicines for effective treatment.
- Cefakind 500 Tablet is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria by preventing them from forming the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is needed for them to survive.
- Take the medication with meal as prescribed by Doctor. Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water, do not chew, crush or break it. Take it in the exact dose and duration as advised by the doctor.
