- Monocef O 100 tablet contains Cefpodoxime 100mg, which belongs to a group of medicines called cephalosporin antibiotics and treat bacterial infections in your body. It is helpful in treating pneumonia, bronchitis and other infections of the skin, nose, throat, urinary tract, etc. Bacterial infections are caused due to the multiplication of harmful bacteria inside or on the body. Harmful bacteria produce chemicals known as toxins, which can damage tissue and make you sick. Monocef-O 100 Tablet 10's does not work against infections caused by the virus, including cold and flu.
- Monocef O 100 Tablet’s most common side effects Dizziness, Nausea, Vomiting, Bloating, diarrhoea, loss of appetite and abdominal pain.
- This medicine may not be suitable to everyone, before taking this medicine; you should inform your doctor about your complete medical history. If you are pregnant or intend to be pregnant or breast feeding, need to inform your doctor. Doctor may suggest some medical tests before initiating treatment. This medicine is not recommended for the use in children aged fewer than 6.
- Monocef-O 100 Tablet 10's is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that is effective against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, aerobic and some anaerobic bacteria. Monocef-O 100 Tablet works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering, which is necessary for their survival. Thereby, kills the bacteria and helps in treating and preventing the spread of infections.
- Take the medication with meal as prescribed by Doctor. Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water, do not chew, crush or break it. Take it in the exact dose and duration as advised by the doctor.
